Abstract:
The dynamics of formation of a virtual cathode and the squeezed beam state (SBS) in a setup with a sublimiting relativistic electron beam under repeated input of the electron beam into the drift tube is studied by the particle-in-cell (PiC) simulation method. The physical characteristics of the SBS (the geometry as well as the electron concentration and temperature) are determined.
