Abstract:
A number of models of the polymerase chain reaction have been suggested to date with the aim of gaining exact quantitative estimates for reaction products. These models usually identify the reaction product kinetics with a kinetics of fluorescence reporter. Here, a model of polymerase chain reaction is suggested in which the results of the reaction are detected using an intercalating dye. Simulation data indicate a significant discrepancy between the reaction product kinetics and the fluorescent signal from a bonded intercalator.
