Abstract:
Analysis of the development of deformations under pulsed loading has shown the decisive role of powerful ultrasonic vibrations of a sample in the standing wave mode. The effect of mass transfer of atoms and ultrafine particles of the hardening phase from the matrix material to the spall damage zone on the microstructure of deformation bands is determined. Rapid cooling of the metal inside the localization bands, the size of which does not exceed several tens of microns, indicates that changes in the phase composition are caused by cold deformation.
