Abstract:
Using differential scanning calorimetry, the regularities of polymorphic $\alpha\leftrightarrow\beta$ transformation in polycrystalline titanium WТ 1-00 were studied. The values of the activation energy of the $\alpha\to\beta$ transformation during heating of titanium (760 $\pm$ 30 kJ/mol and 1100 $\pm$ 100 kJ/mol) were determined, which were dependent on the thermal history of the metal. It is suggested that the recrystallization mechanisms during heating and cooling are controlled by diffusion-free and diffusion mechanisms implemented in overlapping temperature intervals.
