Abstract:
The Casimir force between two finite-thickness metal films has been calculated for realistic plasma frequencies of metals. The result obtained indicates the possibility of weakening of the Casimir force for real films by approximately an order of magnitude at the appropriate choice of the parameters in qualitative agreement with the existing experimental data.
