Abstract: The absolute parameters of a light bullet formed upon the filamentation of femtosecond mid-infrared radiation under the conditions of anomalous group velocity dispersion have been introduced. The duration and radius of the light bullet have been determined for the first time by analyzing the localization region of the light field obtained by solving the unidirectional pulse propagation equation. The evolution of the duration and radius of the region of the strong light field, peak power, and energy localization in the process of wave packet compression and formation of the light bullet during the filamentation of femtosecond laser radiation in LiF have been investigated. A unified method has been developed to determine the parameters of wave packets independent of their shape and width of the spectrum.
