Abstract:
A method has been proposed for identifying the noncrystalline structure of CdS nanoparticles in the direct space by interpreting an image obtained by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The short and average long-range orders and microstrains in the disordered close-packed structure of the CdS nanoparticle have been visualized. It has been shown that the direct-space image of the average lattice with the space group P6 appears due to the moiré effect in the noncrystalline structure.
