Abstract:
Hysteresis in the dependence of the electric polarization on the electric field has been found in polycrystalline cerium iron garnet films. The linear and quadratic magnetoelectric effects have been detected and it has been found that the magnetoelectric tensor components change sign with the variation of the temperature. The magnetoelectric effect has been explained within the magnetostriction model of the flexoelectric interaction with a magnetic subsystem.
