Abstract:
A two-dimensional square transmission diffraction grating consisting of micron holes in a gold film with a period of about $6$ $\mu$m exhibits surface enhanced infrared absorption of rhodamine $6$G in the range of $1400$–$1600$ cm$^{-1}$ near the edge of the lower allowed band with a gain of about $10$.
