Abstract:
Magnetic-field-induced mutual transformations of a hexagonal structure into linear chains were experimentally observed in a system of glycerol droplets freely suspended in the layer of a nematic liquid crystal with hybrid orientation. A qualitative explanation is suggested for the observed effect.
