Abstract:
The possibility of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phase transitions in symmetric nuclear matter is analyzed in Fermi liquid theory with the Skyrme effective interaction. The density dependence of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic parameters of spin polarization at zero temperature is obtained for SkM$^*$ and SGII effective potentials. In the density region where both solutions of self-consistency equations exist, the ferromagnetic spin state is preferable over the antiferromagnetic spin state.
