Local modes in structures with multicomponent plasma

Abstract:
The dispersion relations of a surface plasmon are determined for the case where two- and three-dimensional plasmas coexist, which is typical of topological insulators. Local plasma modes originating from two- and one-dimensional defects in multilayer superlattices and quantum-wire superlattices are investigated.
