Non-classical version of the least squares method

M. M. Oshkhunov

Kabardino-Balkar State University, Nal'chik
Abstract: A new method is proposed for determining the optimal parameters of straight lines and planes, based on minimizing the sums and squares of distances. Unlike the classical least squares method, this approach has a non-unique solution. A comparative analysis of the classical solution and solutions obtained according to this modification is given. Some possible ways of applying the method are considered.
