Abstract: The article introduces a theoretical approach allowing to correctly explain the unusual optical properties of (PMMA + Ag) composite films synthesized by the authors' technology. In order to explain these properties (interference of light in thick films, enhanced optical transmission) the authors have derived the formulas for the reflection amplitudes and the transmission of the layer with quasi-zero index of refraction. The researchers have also obtained semiempirical formulas for reflective and transmission capacities of the layer subject to optical flares.
