Abstract: Background. The work presents the theory of masking of bodies with application of nanostructural composite materials with silver nanoparticles in the polymeric matrix, possessing a quasi-zero index of refraction in the wide range of wave lengths from 450 to 1000 nanometers. Describing the wave flow effect on a medium boundary with a quasi-zero index of refraction the article offers a new way of body masking, considering imaginary bodies of random shape with a quaszero index of refraction. Materials and methods. The work considers a case of a one-layer coating on a surface of a masked body. Calculations were carried out numerically in the MathCad system. Results. It is shown that on the boundary between air and an optical medium with a quasizero index of refraction one should be able to observe the wave flow effect by light on a surface at various light angles. The article presents a new method of cloaking with a quasi-zero refractive index films Conclusions. Conditions of ensuring optical invisibility were formulated. The way of masking described in this article, is based on the effect of wave flow by light on a surface at various light angles of an imaginary body with a quasi-zero index of refraction and does not depend on optical properties of the masked body. It means that according to this way of masking of the transparent and opaque bodies the reflection and light transmission on body's surface is absent and rounding of light happens on the external surface of the masking layer.
Keywords: PMMA + Ag) composite films, silver nanoparticles, quasi-zero refractive index, invisible cloaking of material bodies using the wave flow with the quasi-zero-refractive-index films.
