Comparison of numerical methods for solving integral-differential equation of electromagnetic field

Abstract:
Background. The interest in diffraction problems for bodies, located in free space, is caused by rapid development of electronic equipment and applications. In this paper the problem of diffraction on a body, located in free space, is studied. This problem is reduced to volume singular integral equations. The comparative analysis of numerical solutions obtained by three projection methods is presented. Materials and methods. The problem is reduced to the volume singular integral equation. Two different methods to solve the equation are used: the Galerkin method with transferring of derivatives on one basis function and the kernel's function or on the basis functions only, and the method of collocations. Results. Numerical results obtained by the different methods are presented. Conclusions. The solutions of a singular integral equation by different numerical methods are presented. The authors compared the efficacy of the methods used for the same grid dimension of the partition net.
