Abstract:
The implementation of a high quality control and monitoring system (MoS) is a sine qua non requirement for the efficient operation of a complex distributed computing system involving a great many supplies. The MoS secures the supervision of the activities of the various system components, provides timely warnings on the occurrence of failures and traces their roots, allows comprehensive surveys of the system functioning. The paper discusses the concept of a MoS based on the open system Nagios, containing both built-in and produced from scratch feed-before and feed-back mechanisms. It results in an architecture characterized by universality and scalability. The solutions of the most important problems met during the built-up of the JINR CICC MoS are addressed in detail.
