Computer simulation of natural convection in LPE technique with preliminary dissolution

V. V. Kolmychkov, O. S. Mazhorova, Yu. P. Popov
Abstract: The paper deals with numerical study for epitaxial growth of thin ternary monocrystal layers. Epitaxy produces unstable density gradient that gives rise to natural convection. The review of relevant previously known theoretical results for hydrodynamic instability is given. Three-dimensional calculations have been done to determine the Rayleigh number producing the onset of convection and corresponding flow pattern. Found results are in good agreement with analytical research data.
