Coherent Ray Tracing of complex BRDF objects

A. V. Adinetz, B. Kh. Barladyan, A. G. Voloboy, V. A. Galaktionov, E. A. Kopylov, L. Z. Shapiro
Abstract: An approach for providing BRDF support for coherent ray tracing is described. Unlike earlier approaches, this approach is able to handle real-world measured BRDF represented as 3D or 4D grid of samples. The presented SSE implementation speedups BRDF support in 3–4 times comparing with traditional ray tracing BRDF computations.
