Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the contribution of Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics RAS in the development of Information Science in the fiftieths years of the XX century. The history of creation of the first translators (PP-1 and PP-2), working on the computer “Strela” is described. The role of “Strela” in other calculation, important for country, is emphasized.
