Polarized radiation scattering operator. The general properties. the characteristic equation for the polarized radiation transport theory
N. V. Konovalov
Abstract:
Some important spectral properties of matrix scattering operators for the polarized radiation transport problem were investigated in the first part of this paper. In the second part the corresponding characteristic equation solvability was studied. Numerical results show that vanishing the polarization effect is possible when light intensity is determined. That’s why the scalar theory yields good estimation for radiation intensity. In many cases the polarization effect can be taken into account with the help of perturbations theory.
