Application of model equations to iterative calculation of the neutron and photon distributions in matter

Abstract:
Model kinetic equations for transport of photons or neutrons in matter with strong scattering are derived. The equations have relatively small integral (intrinsic) sources of particles, which makes it possible to use them for independent calculation of the lowest-order angular momenta of particle distributions in order to accelerate the convergence of iterations that arise when solving the particle transport equation.
