Mathematical modeling of Cherenkov radiation generated by a flux of beta particles

Abstract:
Approaches to supercomputer modeling of Cherenkov radiation generation by beams of relativistic beta particles are considered. A model of electron beams passing through transparent media, accompanied by the generation of Cherenkov photons, has been developed. A variant of the algorithm for calculating the propagation of Cherenkov photons through the medium is proposed. The algorithm is based on an approximation of geometric optics. Computational modeling schemes are focused on hybrid clusters with heterogeneous architecture. A computational experiment simulating the processes of interaction of electrons with matter and the propagation of photons for a typical Cherenkov radiation detector is considered. Model calculations were carried out.
