Technique for numerical optimizing the disposing of communication satellites in orbits

Abstract:
A technique for numerical optimization of the orbital disposition of a communication satellites constellation is presented. Circular orbits and constellation parameters similar to the satellite communication system “Gonets” are considered. The statement of the problem allows us to consider the problem of optimizing the area of coverage and the maximum communication waiting time. For the numerical solution of the optimization problem the particle swarm method was used. As a demonstration of the technique efficiency the results for the problems of dispositioning a constellation of satellites for a relatively small number of satellites are presented.
