An exact Riemann solver in the algorithms for multicomponent gas dynamics

Abstract:
This preprint deals with the elaboration of the algorithm for multicomponent gas flows simulations in the presence of strong shock waves. Standard finite volume Godunov-type scheme gives the effect of numerical pressure oscillations on contact discontinuity. In order to fix the situation the convenient modification–double flux method–is described and tested. The simplicity and robustness of the method render it as good candidate for the realization in multi-D algorithms.
