Methods of radiation transfer equation solution for the astrophysical models

M. P. Galanin, V. V. Lukin, V. M. Chechetkin
References:
Abstract: In the paper numerical methods for radiation transfer equation are investigated, viz. finite differencies method, discontinuous Galerkin method, characteristics method. The problem of applicability of these methods in hydrodynamical models of astrophysical outflows is studied. The influence of directions discretization on considered methods monotonicity, positivity, “the effect of the beam” is estimated.
