Abstract:
Mathematical model and results of numerical simulation of axisymmetric plasma flows in nozzle-type channels formed by two coaxial electrodes are presented. Transonic acceleration flows, which attract interest in plasma accelerators development, are considered. Mathematics of the models is based on numerical solution of two-dimensional MHD-problems. Steady-state flows are obtained in its relaxation processes. Some of the flow characteristics in narrow tubes between close trajectories are considered in quasi-one-dimensional approximation. The main attention is focused on the influence of longitudinal magnetic field and curved channel geometry on acceleration flows properties.
