Numerical simulation of the electron heat transport in a collisional plasma by finite difference method

Abstract:
An algorithm for the numerical solution of the plasma kinetic equation in 1D2V geometry is suggested. The nonlinear collision operator is computed on the base of the completely conservative difference scheme. Self consistent electrical field is computed from the condition of quasi neutrality at each time step. The numerical results for the relaxation of the initial temperature perturbation in a collisional plasma in 1D2V geometry are presented.
