Combined method of multicriteria decision support

Abstract:
An original method is proposed for revealing preferences of a decision-making person. The method consists in partition of the criteria space into domains and determination of the preference pattern among them using qualitative judgments. While the alternative-ranking problems are solved, several non-dominated alternatives may fall into the same domain. In this case, it is recommended to the user to take advantage of the quantitative method for comparing the alternatives inside the given domain. A function, using which a final alternative estimate is calculated, is called the hybrid function of preferences. It can be used in the decision support systems in problems on selection, ranking, and optimization.
