Qualitative peculiarities of evolution for some satellite polar orbits
M. A. Vashkov'yak
Abstract:
Two special cases of problem are considered on secular perturbations in the elements of orbit of satellite negligible mass, caused by joint influence of oblateness of central planet, attraction of its most massive (or main) satellites and Sun. These cases belong to the number intergrable ones in a general nonintegrable evolutional problem. First from them realized when the plane of satellite orbit and rotational axis of planet lie in its orbital plane. Second — when the plane of satellite orbit is orthogonal to the cross line of equatorial planet’s plane and its orbital one. In present work main qualitative peculiarities of evolution of eccentricity and of pericenter argument are described for such satellite polar orbits. The families of integral curves in phase plane of these elements are constructed for satellite systems of Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus.
Keywords:
secular perturbations, polar satellite orbits.
