The Data Model for the Information System Supporting Scientific Investigations in the Department of Radiology and Radiosurgery of the N. N. Burdenko Neurosurgical Institute

Abstract:
An object model for the information necessary for the support of scientific work in the department of radiology and radiosurgery of the Neurosurgery Institute is proposed. The main object of the model is a patient, rather than an episode of treatment, which eliminates duplication of data for repeated patients. The model is presented in a form suitable for computer analysis: it is structured, typed, and data dictionaries are provided for string data. The model also provides capability for further expansion.
