The Radiative Acceleration of Matter Bullets in Accretion Funnels near Astrophysical Objects
M. P. Galanin, Yu. M. Toropin, V. M. Chechetkin
Abstract:
The possibility of a radiative acceleration of matter bullets placed into a cylindrical funnel was investigated. Such funnel or an extending channel could be formed during an accretion onto a massive object. A hot region around the central object serves as a bottom of the funnel. It was shown that a powerful acceleration is agreeable at the investigated system. A terminal velocity value of the bullet could approach a significant fraction of the light speed. In addition to the previous paper of the authors a gravitation force of the central object and a finite optical depth of the accelerating bullet were taken into account. Application of the results to astrophysical objects is discussed briefly.
