Mass Transfer in Non-Synchronous Binaries. Result of 3D Simulation

Abstract:
The results of 3D numerical simulation of mass transfer in semidetached binaries with non-synchronous rotation of mass-losing star are presented. We consider both aligned and misaligned rotation of mass-losing star and compare flow structure fot these cases with results for synchronous of mass-losing star. It was shown that main features of the flow structure namely circumbinary envelope formation, absence of the 'hot spot' on the outer edge of accretion disk, and shock arising on the stream boundary repeat in all considered cases. For the misaligned case it was shown that disk behavior reflects the variations of boundary conditions on the surface of nass-losing star, i.e. the 'slaved' model of accretion disk is realized.
