Completely Consistent P1 Synthetic Acceleration Scheme for Charged-Particle Transport Calculations

Abstract:
The effectiveness of a generalized procedure for construction of the P1 synthetic P1SA scheme for acceleration of inner iterations convergence that is consistent with the weighted diamond difference (WDD) approximation of the transport equation has been investigated for highly anisotropical scattering problems including charged-particle transport problems. A simple regularization algorithm that improves the performance of the P1SA scheme in solving these problems has been discussed. The influence of the adaptive algorithm for calculation of the weighting coefficients of the WDD scheme on the performance of the consistent P1SA scheme has been also investigated.
