On a Boundary Description Approach in NDE Problems

Abstract:
The approach based on the explicit definition of boundaries is considered in NDE problems for piecewise homogeneous structures. This way provides adequate description of separating surfaces between different components of studied objects. The main features of this boundary representation approach and principles for taking into account the essential a priori information are pointed out. The advantages of the approach and difficulties of its realization are described. One efficient algorithm for calculating the operator of connection between shape of the object and its projection images is represented for 3D cone-beam X-ray diagnostics. First results of the approach realization for mathematical simulation of 3D direct problems are described.
