About computation of incompressible Navier-Stokes equations using primitive variables
V. V. Kolmychkov, O. S. Mazhorova, Yu. P. Popov
Abstract:
The paper deals with predictor-corrector method for Navier-Stokes equations using primitive variables. Instead of Poisson continuity equation Poisson equation with homogeneous boundary conditions to determine pressure is used. For different approaches to the numerical solution of the Noimann problem stability, precision and continuity of the solution are studied. For 3D lid driven cavity flow pattern is investigated. The space region where the solution can be considered as 2D is determined. Alghorithm variants are tested on 2D and 3D problems of forced and free convection.
