A body collision with a surface in the presence of an additional point of contact

V. V. Lapshin
Abstract: The phenomenon of a body plane inelastic collision with a rough surface is investigated. Before the collision the body has an additional motionless point of contact with the surface. The possibility of the different types of body motion after the collision (body stop; sliding on the two points of contact; rotation around the new motionless point of contact; sliding on the new point of contact and rotation around it) is obtained. For some special cases the areas of parameters corresponding for different kinds of body motion after collision are presented graphically.
