Izvestiya: Mathematics

Izvestiya: Mathematics is the English edition of the Russian bimonthly journal Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Seriya Matematicheskaya, founded in 1937. The journal publishes only original research papers containing full results in the author's field of study.

Until the last issue of 1994, Izvestiya: Mathematics was published by the American Mathematical Society. From 1995 to 2022 the journal was published by the Russian Academy of Sciences and the London Mathematical Society in partnership with Turpion Ltd. Starting from 2022, the journal is published by the Steklov Mathematical Institute of RAS.

Since 2022 electronic access to the content is hosted by the Steklov Mathematical Institute of RAS. Free access dating from the first English translation volume is available at https://www.mathnet.ru/eng/im.

In 2023 were published two special issues:

1. The special issue (87:3, 2023) dedicated to the outstanding mathematician Igor' Rostislavovich Shafarevich on the occasion of his centenary. This issue contains contributions by colleagues and pupils of Igor' Rostislavovich and also by other famous scientists: Yu. I. Manin, V. A. Abrashkin, A. I. Bondal, Yu. G. Zarhin, A. G. Kuznetsov, Vik. S. Kulikov, Yu. G. Prokhorov, A. A. Roslyi, N. A. Tyurin, V. V. Shokurov.

The main topics of the issue: algebraic and differential geometry, topology.

2. Special issue (87:5, 2023), dedicated to the outstanding mathematician V. S. Vladimirov on the occasion of his centenary contains the papers on the topics closely related to his own works and the works written by the members of his scientific school: complex and algebraic geometry, differential and integral equations, mathematical and theoretical physics, theory of functions and information theory. Among the authors are well-known specialists in these fields: L. Accardi, V. V. Zharinov, V. A. Zagrebnov, V. V. Kozlov, A. N. Pechen’, A. G. Sergeev, S. S. T. Yau, Xiangyu Zhou, and others.
