Abstract: The optical spectra of samples of double zirconium molybdates activated by rare-earth Pr$^{3+}$ and Nd$^{3+}$ ions are studied. The presence of bands corresponding to the $4f$$4f$ transitions of Pr$^{3+}$ and Nd$^{3+}$ trivalent ions in the absorption, excitation, and luminescence spectra is shown. A strong dependence of the luminescence intensity of Pr$^{3+}$ ions on temperature is revealed.

The development of the experimental setup and the measurement of the 4f–4f transition spectra were carried out within the governmental task on project no. IX.125.3 0350-2016-0024 (D.O. Sofich). The synthesis and characterization of the sample structure was carried out within the state task on project no. 0339-2016-0007 and was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, project no. 18-08-00799a (S.G. Dorzhieva, O.D. Chimitova, B.G. Bazarov, Yu.L. Tushinova, and Zh.G. Bazarova). The spectroscopy of metal–oxygen centers was supported by the Russian Science Foundation, project no. 17-72-10084 (R.Yu. Shendrik and D.O. Sofich).
