Abstract:
It has been established that the Leontiev formula is in satisfactory agreement with the Grüneisen equation. A comment on the derivation of this formula has been given. The apparent contradiction in it has been discussed. Its application to crystalline and glassy solids has been considered. It has been shown that we can deduce the Belomestnykh–Tesleva relation, according to which the Grüneisen parameter turns out to be a unique function of the Poisson's ratio, from the Leontiev formula.
