On the contact of a two-dimensional transition metal with a graphene-like compound

Abstract:
In terms of a simple model, analytical expressions for the charge transition and Schottky barrier height at the contact of a two-dimensional d-metal with a A$_\mathrm {N}$B$_{8-\mathrm{N}}$ graphene-like compound have been obtained. It has been shown that the metal two-dimensionality can be taken into account by means of narrowing its d-band. By the examples of the Gr–2DM and hBN–2DM systems, it has been demonstrated that the proposed approach leads to satisfactory results.
