Formation of grain structure in $\mathrm{Ni}_3\mathrm{Al}$ intermetallic compound synthesized by thermal explosion

Abstract:
We have studied the effect of preload and the delay in application of pressure to the product of high-temperature synthesis under conditions of thermal explosion of a powder mixture of stoichiometric composition on the grain size in the synthesized $\mathrm{Ni}_3\mathrm{Al}$ compound, on the nature of its fracture, strength, and ductility.
