State of the contact boundary separating layers of metal over a broad range of changes in the velocity of oblique collision
O. B. Drennov Moscow
Abstract:
We undertook an experimental investigation of the process involved in the oblique collision of layers of metal over a broad range of contact-point velocities. It is demonstrated that in the region of subsonic flow a rise in vc increases the amplitude of the disturbances at the contact boundary, while in the area of supersonic flows that amplitude diminishes. We propose an analytical relationship between the amplitude of the perturbations and the strength properties of the colliding materials.
