Abstract: We examine the problem of focal thermal ignition in a substance capable of autocatalytic conversion. We have derived an expression by the method of joined asymptotic expansions for the critical value of the Frank-Kamenetskii parameter. We have determined the singularities of this expression, associated with autocatalysis. We have studied the limit cases of strong and weak autocatalysis.
