Flame propagation in asymmetrical annular channels

Abstract: Gas dynamic equations are derived which describe the flow of fuel combustion products in an asymmetrical annular channel in a two-dimensional nonstationary arrangement. Gas dynamic equations are solved together with equations which describe thermal processes. The main features are established by numerical analysis for ignition of a fuel cartridge placed asymmetrically in the body of a gas generator. Cases are analyzed for inserting a cartridge with eccentricity or with misalignment.
