Combustion of fuel droplets in a turbulent air stream
L. A. Klyachko Moscow
Abstract:
A theory of complete blow-out off liquid droplets of fuel is developed. The theory is compared to experimental data. The velocity of a droplet is determined relative to the parcel of turbulent air flowing past it, as a function of time. The possibility of combustion of fuel droplets (as individual formations) is demonstrated in the maximal and cruising operating regimes of a gas-turbine engine combustion chamber.
