The question of instability during combustion of a polydisperse fuel
N. A. Koroleva Sverdlovsk
Abstract:
A model is proposed for the combustion of pulverized or atomized fuel, based on equations describing the balance of heat and material balance with respect to the oxidizer, and the evolution of a polydisperse ensemble of particles. The equations account for the continuous intake of particles from outside the system. The original system of equations reduces to two integrodifferential equations which describe the dynamics of oxidizer temperature and concentration in a furnace. The criteria for instability of the steady regime are obtained, and the mechanism for the transfer to a free oscillation regime is studied. The region, in which only the mild stability loss regime exists, is determined in the space of physical and regime parameters for the system. The free-oscillation amplitude and frequency are determined as functions of the supercritical state.
