Abstract: On the basis of dimerization kinetics and experimental data on thermal explosion we determine conditions for ignition of tetrafluoroethylene on a hot wall. A mathematical model of nonisothermal polymerization on a plane wall and in a cavity which takes into account heat removal to the wall and to the gas phase is proposed. The conditions for explosion hazard situations are established and expressions for the induction time are obtained.
