Reorganization of established gasless combustion modes in the field of the determining parameters

Abstract:
An explanation is proposed for the change occurring in established propagation modes of a solid flame in a cylindrical sample in response to a change in the determining parameters. The explanation is based on the theory of stability of a stationary wave with respect to two-dimensional perturbations. According to this theory, as the calorific value of the composition of a sample of prescribed diameter decreases, the number of excited modes at first increases and then decreases. This result is consistent with a change in the combustion front.
