Abstract: The phenomenological approach of Zel'dovich–Novozhilov is employed to consider the possibility of obtaining the burning rate response using radiation and then converting it to a pressure response function. A technique is proposed for directly obtaining the nonstationary burning rate response to pressure variations in experiments with a special temporal law of radiant fluxes.
